SMEER FloorPaint is for suitable, properly prepared floors in interior and covered areas, including:
- Living areas, bedrooms and passages
- Covered stoeps and verandas
- Store rooms
- Light-use workshops and hobby rooms
On previously painted floors, check compatibility and test adhesion on a small area first.
Surface Preparation
Good preparation is the key to a long-lasting painted floor. The surface must be:
- Sound and properly cured
- Clean and completely dry
- Free from dust, oil, grease and wax
- Free from old polish
- Free from loose or flaking paint
New concrete and screed must be fully cured before painting.
Application & Coverage
Application Method
ROLLER OR BRUSH
Coverage on Porous Surfaces | Approx. 3–4 m² per litre per coat
Coverage on Smooth Surfaces | Approx. up to 7–8 m² per litre per coat
- Stir thoroughly until uniform. Do not dilute.
- Roll or brush on an even first coat, avoiding puddles.
- Allow to dry until ready to recoat.
- Apply the second coat.
Two coats are recommended for the best colour and protection.
Drying Times
Under normal conditions with good ventilation:

Cool temperatures, high humidity, poor airflow and thicker coats will increase drying times. Keep the floor out of use until it has fully cured.
Cleaning of Equipment
Clean rollers, brushes and trays with clean water immediately after use.
Important Limitations
SMEER FloorPaint is designed for household foot traffic. It is not intended for:
- Vehicle traffic or garage parking
- Paving or driveways
- Heavy industrial floors
- Areas exposed to oil, diesel or harsh chemicals
- Standing water or permanently wet floors
Like any painted floor, it may be slippery when wet.
