Surface Preparation
For the best colour and shine, the floor must be:
- Clean
- Sound
- Completely dry
- Free from dust, grease and oil
- Free from loose or flaking material
On previously painted or polished floors, test a small inconspicuous area first to check adhesion and colour.
Application & Coverage
Application Method
SPONGE | SPONGE ROLLER | BRUSH
Coverage on Porous Surfaces | Approx. 4–5 m² per litre per coat
Coverage on Smooth Surfaces | Approx. up to 8 m² per litre per coat
- Stir the product until the colour is even. Do not dilute.
- Apply a thin, even coat with a clean sponge, sponge roller or brush.
- Avoid puddles and heavy build-up.
- Allow to dry. No buffing is needed.
- Apply a second thin coat only if needed.
1–2 thin coats are recommended.
Drying Times
Under normal conditions with good ventilation:

Cool temperatures, high humidity and poor airflow may increase drying times. Keep foot traffic off the floor until it is dry.
Cleaning & Care
Mop as normal with clean water and a mild cleaner, and avoid aggressive scrubbing. Clean brushes, sponges and rollers with water straight after use.
Important Limitations
SMEER FloorCoat is a liquid colour floor polish. It is not intended as:
- A clear floor polish
- An epoxy or polyurethane floor coating
- A heavy-duty or industrial floor coating
- A coating for vehicle traffic, paving or permanently wet floors
